Here we are at the week of Thanksgiving. I personally am truly thankful to be a part of this amazing band community. I hope you all get to enjoy some time of rest and good times with friends and family.
Congrats to all of our students selected for honor band and all-state!
I have a few things for you this week, and as always, Mr. Sayre has some words for you as well.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Here's what I have for you all this week:
Sock Fundraiser - Our sock fundraiser is underway. It runs through this week and ends on 11/28.
Uniform Turn-in - We are still missing a handful of uniforms and uniform parts - I have a few words from our uniform chair
A word from Mr. Sayre - Important upcoming schedule information
Monday 11/24 - Tuesday 11/25
Parent/Teacher Conferences - No School
Wednesday 11/26 - Friday 11/28
Thanksgiving Break - No School
Our sock fundraiser is underway. This is a new fundraiser we are trying out this year. The students sent out text messages recently to family and friends linking them to our sock fundraising site.
Everyone loves fun and crazy socks, and with Christmas coming up, you can find some fun gifts and support the band at the same time!
The fundraiser runs through this Friday, 11/28.
We still have a handful of full uniforms that have not been turned in. There are also a few miscellaneous parts that have not made it back to us.
This Thanksgiving break, please take a look at your account in Cut Time, and look under Assignments. Any uniform parts still assigned will be located there. If there are items listed, please check around the house for them over the break - look in cars, lockers, closets, laundry rooms, the floors of their rooms, etc. - and try to get those items turned in when we return to classes.
If you see any items listed and you believe they are in error, please reach out to our uniform chair, Lori, at uniforms@eldorado.band.
If you still have a full uniform checked out, that will show in Cut Time as well - there is a rack in the band room for you to put those.
We need to get these things turned in ASAP, so thanks for your prompt attention to this matter.

Hello Eagle Band Community!
I hope you all had a restful break. A quick reminder that we have no rehearsals this week. Parent–teacher conferences are on Monday and Tuesday, and I’m happy to talk with you about band, school progress, or anything else you’d like to discuss - just let me know. Make sure you take some time to look over your sheet music. We have our Jazz Concert on December 4th, and the Concert Bands, Winter Guard, and Percussion Ensemble on December 11th.
As we enter the Thanksgiving season, I want to share how grateful I am for our students, families, and supporters here at EHS. This program thrives because of your encouragement, consistency, and belief in the work we do. I’m thankful every day for the chance to work with such dedicated young musicians and a community that truly supports them.
This weekend, EHS had the privilege of hosting the NMMEA District 7 Honor Bands, and our students represented us exceptionally well. Fifteen students earned placement this year—please congratulate them on this achievement.

This year, 106 students from our program auditioned for Jazz and Concert All-State - the top musical honor for high school musicians in New Mexico. The audition process is rigorous, and we are proud of every student who put in the time to prepare. We had 54 accepted for this honor and many accepted for both for this honor, far more than any other program in the state. Congrats!
