I hope everyone is enjoying their down-time. The end of this week starts the busiest time in our band calendar, so make sure you are well rested!
Two big things for this week:
All-state registrations are due by Tuesday, Oct 15
Uniform cleaning receipts are due by Wednesday, Oct 16
Also, Wednesday evening, we'll be having our monthly parent booster meeting. If you have any questions or concerns about the next couple weeks of craziness, or even if you don't, please come, meet some other band parents, and hear from the directors and boosters about what is going on in the program.
Let's dig into this week - it's a busy one...
Here's what I have for you all this week:
All-State Auditions - registration to audition for All-State due this week (Jazz and Concert) - DUE TUESDAY!
Uniform Cleaning - we need to get those uniforms spruced up for our big performance push at the end of the season. This is not optional.
Upcoming Restaurant Night - getting this on your radar, Panda Express is our next community fundraising night, next Monday, 10/21
Volunteer Opportunities - as always, these are our open signups. Please take a look and consider grabbing an empty slot. Still need a few workers for the Marching MPA.
And a word from Mr. Sayre - a lot in here, so make sure to read through this

All-State Audition registration closes this week - please register ASAP. The deadline for registration is TUESDAY, October 15th. The cost for Concert Auditions is $22 and the cost for Jazz Auditions is $24. As Mr. Sayre says - regardless if you think you can make it or not, the process of going through the audition is very valuable.

Get those marching bibs dry cleaned. Save your receipt, because you need to write your students name on it, and get a copy of it to our uniforms chair. You can scan and email, take a picture and text it, or some combination of those - just get it to her by Oct 16th. Again, the receipt needs to be dated between 10/6 and 10/16, and MUST have your students name written on it. Email to uniforms@eldorado.band or text to (505) 205-7550. Failure to do so will incur a $25 fine on your student accounts - which is more costly than a cleaning, AND doesn't help our band look their best during their biggest performances.
While you are at it, please clean up your marching shoes. The Los Lunas facility is a dusty place, and no doubt our marching shoes are looking a little dull and dirty. Please shine them up before our performances this week.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Our next community fundraising night is Monday, October 21 at Panda Express. This will be at the 9500 Montgomery location. You can get the flyer and the details from the Restaurant Nights page - order online using the code, or bring the flyer and order in the store.
Here are the current active signups available. You can also always see any open volunteering opportunities on the Volunteering page. Specifically, we still need MPA Chaperones, and there are still some important slots open for the MPA Support Volunteers.
