Thanksgiving week is here, and with that, for many of us, comes some days off. I encourage you all to take this time to rest and enjoy the season as much as possible.
I'm so thankful for this community, for your generosity and support toward this band program. It's truly a blessing to be a part of such a great group of people.
Thanks to all that came out for our Il Vicino night this past week. We had a great turnout and what a great opportunity to support our band program AND a local business.
Congratulations to our Honor Band participants this weekend on a great concert, as well as all our students that were selected to Jazz and Concert All-State. We're all very proud of you.
Don't forget - today is the last day to order a Zia Finalist Patch. If you still want to secure yours, go to https://zia-patches-2024.cheddarup.com .
I don't have anything else for you today, but Mr. Sayre has plenty, so don't forget to read his section below.
Here's what I have for you all this week:
A word from Mr. Sayre - As always, make sure to read through his section

Greetings Eagle Band!
As we approach this reflective time of year, it’s the perfect moment to express gratitude for the many blessings we have. At Eldorado, we are incredibly fortunate to have a community that values and supports excellence in our music program. On behalf of the directors, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents, guardians, and families of our students for your unwavering support and dedication. Your contributions truly make a difference and help our program thrive.
Huge shout out to our amazing students for making All-State. We had over 100 auditions for Jazz and Concert Allstate. We had 45 accepted auditions in Jazz and Concert including the students selected as alternates and many for both! This is by far the most students accepted from any program in the state. CONGRATS!!!
This week we have a few items to take care of and we hope you have a restful break. Once we get back on Monday December 2nd we have a QUICK week and a half then we have Jazz Bands, Concert Bands, Color Guard, and Chamber Ensemble/Jazz Combos. I have said this EVERY year I have taught - When everyone else in the school is winding down, we are usually winding up. Once our performances are done we will be getting ready for the next one which is Wind Ensemble performing in a clinic at All-State.
Assembly on Tuesday: wear your band shirt.
The Chamber Ensembles/Jazz Combos will perform on December 9th at 6:00 PM. We will also have guest performers from UNM as well.
The Jazz Concert is on December 10th at 6:30 PM. Students will not be signed out until all the performance equipment is put away where it goes and the PAC/Band Room is tidy.
The Concert Band Concert is on December 12th at 6:30 PM. Call time is 5:30 PM. Color Guard will also perform. DRESS IS ALL BLACK (not provided by the school). Student leaders and Officers will help with concert logistics and will help students check out at the end of the night. Students will not be signed out until all the performance equipment is put away where it goes and the PAC/Band Room is tidy.
Wind Ensemble at All-State: We have been asked to take part in a clinic for educators presented by Dr. Emily Moss, Director of Bands at UNM. Details are still being worked out. What this means is that the Wind Ensemble will be rehearsing the last week of the semester for Zero Hour to be prepared for the clinic.
Here is the plan for the week- very similar to last week since it is a short week.
Students need to take their instruments home over the break.
Go Eagles!
