I hope everyone was able to have a somewhat relaxing Thanksgiving break. I can't believe the first semester is almost over.
Anyway, I have another slow week for you.
Here's what I have for you all this week:
Booster Holiday Party - Our annual Booster Holiday Party is this Saturday
Student Accounts - Just a friendly reminder to stay on top of your student account balances
A word from Mr. Sayre - As always, make sure to read through his section
Wednesday 12/4
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Color Guard Sectional
Thursday 12/5
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Percussion Sectionals
Saturday 12/7
Booster Holiday Party - See below for details
We'll be having our annual booster holiday party on Saturday, December 7 starting at 6:30 PM. Our booster social chair and spring trip planner, JP Bowdoin, has graciously offered to host this event again, and we are so thankful for his hospitality. So please, leave the kids at home, and come and enjoy some holiday cheer with your board, volunteers, and other boosters as a huge thank you for all your hard work toward this band program.
All the details, including a link to RSVP, are in this invitation. Please RSVP ASAP so we can properly plan for food.
I know the last thing you want to think about during this season is paying band fees, but I just want to encourage you to do your best to stay on top of them. Making regular small payments makes the fees much more manageable. Remember that if you can't afford the convenience fees that Cut Time charges, you can pay by check or money order using the Payment Method instructions on the Financials page, just remember that it can take a few weeks to get those payments credited to your student accounts as this is an entirely manual process. If you have any questions, please let us know.
Have a great week!
JD
Greetings Eagle Band!
We hope you had a restful and well earned Thanksgiving break! We have a lot to get ready for in the coming weeks. We have several concerts including a Chamber Music/ Jazz Combo Performance, the Jazz Bands Concert, the Color Guard Performance, and the Concert Bands Concert. We also have some to prepare for the educator clinic at Allstate including a visit from Dr. Emily Moss.
Here (again) is the information for the upcoming couple weeks:
The Chamber Ensembles/Jazz Combos will perform on December 9th at 6:00 PM. We will also have guest performers from UNM as well.
The Jazz Concert is on December 10th at 6:30 PM. Students will not be signed out until all the performance equipment is put away where it goes and the PAC/Band Room is tidy.
The Concert Band Concert is on December 12th at 6:30 PM. Call time is 5:30 PM. Color Guard will also perform. DRESS IS ALL BLACK (not provided by the school). Student leaders and Officers will help with concert logistics and will help students check out at the end of the night. Students will not be signed out until all the performance equipment is put away where it goes and the PAC/Band Room is tidy.
Wind Ensemble at All-State: We have been asked to take part in a clinic for educators presented by Dr. Emily Moss, Director of Bands at UNM. Details are still being worked out. What this means is that the WInd Ensemble will be rehearsing the last week of the semester for Zero Hour to be prepared for the clinic.
Here is the plan for the week.
Students, we’ll see you in the morning!
Go Eagles!
Mr. Sayre
