The semester is almost over, and that means it's concert season. Very excited to hear our students play this week at the many concerts they will be playing. Hope to see everyone there!
It was great to see a number of you at our Booster Holiday party yesterday. Thanks SO much to JP for hosting once again! If you missed it this year, hopefully you can make it next year.
I'm also excited to announce we are beginning our Jazz Festival season! Even though the event doesn't occur until February, preparation and planning begins now. This is a huge community event we put on each year, and there will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer and help out. Currently, we are looking for sponsors, so see below for more details on that.
Let's dig into what I have for you this week.
Here's what I have for you all this week:

We are already prepping and planning for this year's Jazz Festival. And at this time, we are seeking sponsorships from local businesses to help cover the costs of putting on this massive event. If you don't know, Jazz Festival is a 3-day event that occurs in February that brings together 40+ jazz bands and ensembles from around the state to perform their selections, and ends with an amazing jazz concert featuring the UNM Jazz I and Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra each performing with a well-known jazz professional.
Sponsorships are key to making this event successful. If you own a business, have a family member who owns a business, know a local business that would be a great partner, or even would like to make a general donation to support the festival yourself - you can get all the details on the Jazz Festival Sponsorship page. For convenience, I'm also including a link to the sponsorship letter and form here:

2025 Jazz Festival Sponsorship Form
Sponsorships are due by Jan 27, 2025. If you have any questions, you can contact our Jazz Festival chairpersons at jazzfestival@eldorado.band.
We have a tradition here at Eldorado during our winter band concert where we ask everyone to bring their favorite cookies to share. After the concerts, we then invite all our guests to enjoy a cookie (or three) and hang out a bit.
Here is how you can participate. Just bring a plate, or package, of your favorite cookies and drop them off in the PAC foyer before the concerts. There will be tables set up there to display all the delicious options. No need to go overboard here and bring dozens and dozens of cookies - there are always way more cookies than we can eat.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you all bring this year.
Have a great week!
JD
