It was great hearing the students this week at their concerts. It's been a long semester, but I think I can speak for everyone that we are very proud of the work you've put in this year so far.
Don't forget to start finding those Jazz Festival sponsorships.
Good luck on your finals this week!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.
Here's what I have for you all this week:
Jazz Festival Sponsorships - See how you can get our business community engaged in this amazing event
A word from Mr. Sayre - As always, make sure to read through his section
Wednesday 12/18
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Color Guard Sectional
Thursday 12/19
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Percussion Sectionals
We are already prepping and planning for this year's Jazz Festival. And at this time, we are seeking sponsorships from local businesses to help cover the costs of putting on this massive event. If you don't know, Jazz Festival is a 3-day event that occurs in February that brings together 40+ jazz bands and ensembles from around the state to perform their selections, and ends with an amazing jazz concert featuring the UNM Jazz I and Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra each performing with a well-known jazz professional.
Sponsorships are key to making this event successful. If you own a business, have a family member who owns a business, know a local business that would be a great partner, or even would like to make a general donation to support the festival yourself - you can get all the details on the Jazz Festival Sponsorship page. For convenience, I'm also including a link to the sponsorship letter and form here:

2025 Jazz Festival Sponsorship Form
Sponsorships are due by Jan 27, 2025. If you have any questions, you can contact our Jazz Festival chairpersons at jazzfestival@eldorado.band.
Have a great week!

Happy Holidays Eagles!
Congratulations on another week of great performances! You have accomplished a lot this semester and we hope you feel proud of the accomplishments you have made together. The band directors could not be more proud of the students’ performances. Thank you! Big shout out to Dr. Emily Moss for coming in and working with the Wind Ensemble. Big shout out also to the Chamber/Jazz Clubs for putting together a great program for Monday’s concert.
Coming up we have a few things to put in place before we go on break:
Allstate Educator Clinic with wind ensemble: be sure to get all the permission and transportation forms turned in ASAP. We are not taking a bus to the event and students will need to work out rides to and from UNM on January 10th. Here is the itinerary for the event.
Zero hour this week: Plan on meeting Monday through Thursday. We will keep it light and simple.
Go Eagles!
Mr. Sayre
