I hope everyone is getting rested up from this weekend. Thanks to the parents who helped out at the stormy game, and the students for being flexible Friday night and working hard all day Saturday.
We are planning to ramp up Spiritwear sales again at our Home football games at Wilson Stadium through October. Our new Spiritwear chair could use some assistants - if you are willing and able (no clearance required!), please sign up below.
Also, we have an Il Vicino Restaurant Night on Tuesday - all day. See the Restaurant Nights page for all the details and the flyer.
I don't have much else for you, but Mr. Sayre does. Make sure to read through his section (as always...). Please take care of the APS transportation forms and the band class fee ASAP.
Let's dig into the upcoming week.
Here's what I have for you all this week:

Hello Eagles!
A huge shout out to everyone for your incredible work at Saturday’s rehearsal. This day is what sets us up for real success—we could not have gotten through all of the visual additions, musical adjustments, and prop work for the show without that dedicated time. Thank you also to our amazing parent volunteers who gave up their Saturday to provide water, popsicles, props, and support. Your efforts made the day a success for our students! We have most of the show on the field!
This Week’s Schedule
Monday, September 22 – Sectionals (Woodwinds & Brass), 4:00–5:00 PM
Tuesday, September 23 – Full Band Rehearsal, 4:00–6:00 PM, marching field
Wednesday, September 24 – Color Guard Class, 4:00–6:00 PM, M4
Thursday, September 25 – Percussion Class, 4:00–6:00 PM
Zero Hour All-State Prep
Monday – Dr. Richard White (UNM) working with the Tuba section
Tuesday – Dr. Chris Buckholz with Low Brass
Wednesday – Dr. Jillian Kouzel with Oboe players
Upcoming Tests
Memorization for the 3rd movement of the show.
Preparation for the second All-State Etude.
Both will be submitted in Google Classroom—don’t wait until the last minute!
Los Lunas Invitational – Transportation
During Balloon Fiesta, most of the bus companies used by APS are contracted out for park and ride, making transportation for our invitational very limited and costly. Our current plan is:
We will likely secure two buses for part of the group.
Remaining students will need to ride with parents.
Families, please complete both the APS Transportation Forms this week and turn it in (with all necessary photocopies) to Anne Claspell, Booster Secretary, or to me. We will get administrator signatures.
This needs to be completed this week so we are ready well in advance.
The silver lining: a strong home crowd to cheer us on, and students will be able to head home directly after the event. Thank you for your understanding as we adjust—after exhausting many other options, this is our most viable path forward.
Band Class Fees
Please submit the $25 band class fee through SchoolPay.
These funds go directly to the band activity account and help cover transportation and other essential program needs.
Let’s keep the momentum going—our season is shaping up to be something special!
Go Eagles!
