Now on to the details...
Food & Fun Update
I have a word from April and Jim DeAngelo, who have stepped up to generously volunteer their time this year to help feed our kids.
The Food and Fun Committee needs to know about any food restrictions (allergies, lactose or gluten intolerance, vegetarian, vegan, etc...) marching band students have. Please complete and submit the Food Restrictions Form before August 11th, so that we can feed the students appropriately at the first game the following week. Please email April DeAngelo at foodandfun@eldorado.band if you have any questions or concerns.
Uniforms
We still have a few students who have NOT been fitted for uniforms. Our uniform chair will be at school, between end-of-school and afternoon rehearsal, this coming Tuesday 8/8 to fit those students. Please make sure to get there if you still need to be fitted.
Additionally, she could use a few parent volunteers to help her out for that time, so please let her know at uniforms@eldorado.band if you can help out.
Flea Market Update
The Flea Market is coming on August 26th. Again, this even takes a number of parent volunteers to be successful. We have a number of you signed up, but still need quite a bit more. There are ample opportunities for helping to setup and run it, cleanup, and to lend tarps/tents. Please consider grabbing a slot from our signup link below.

Additionally, we have secured some space in the choir storage room to hold some donations. If you want to send your donations with your student, they can leave them in that storage room up until the event.
Remember - no mattresses, large appliances, or tube TVs will be accepted. See the Flea Market page for details.
Golden Boosters
As we talked about during the parent meeting, becoming a Golden Booster is a way for you to directly support your band program. Thanks so much to those of you who have donated so far, but we are lagging in our goal for Golden Boosters. Please consider supporting the program through this campaign. See the Golden Boosters page for all the details.
Car Wash Update
Our annual car wash is coming up on August 19th. Students will be in attendance to wash cars and play pep tunes. Pep band assignments will be coming soon from the directors. BRING A WATER BOTTLE - we will not have enough bottled water for everyone.
We are still in need of some parents to help keep the students focused in the car wash line. If you can help out, please grab a slot on the signup link below:

Here, for your convenience, is a list of all of our active volunteer signup opportunities. If you have any questions about any of these, please let me know. These are also always on the website if you ever need to find them on the Volunteering page.

Corporate Sponsorships
Remember - the more corporate sponsorships we get, the lower the band fees will be for the year. On the link below is a letter you can print or send to any businesses you own, relative's businesses, businesses you frequent, etc. We will be taking these through August, after which I will be finalizing the fee schedule for the year.
Students - you can get involved as well. The section that raises the most ($ / student) will win a prize. We have new leaders! Here are the current standings:
1st - Baritones
2nd - Trumpets
3rd - Saxophones

Now, a word from Mr. Sayre...
Great first week of school! Fantastic performance at SOAR day. You represented the band well and we heard a lot of great feedback from principals, students, and staff for how much the band added to the event. Great job!
For week two I have a few things items for you:
Zero Hour goes by rather fast and we are off to a good start about being efficient with our time. Thank you for being prompt and early for zero hour. Front ensemble- make sure at least 2 of you are down by the band room to load the marimba on the truck before I drive it up to the field.
Monday we will start our afterschool brass and woodwind sectionals that go until 4:45. We will break out into sectionals after a quick warm-up and introduction to the 2nd movement. Focus on memorization of the 1st movement if needed and the beginning of the 2nd movement.
Tuesday is our first full band after school rehearsal. Rehearsal goes from 4:10 to 6:00. We should be able to set the rest of our 1st movement. If a student has to miss part or all of rehearsal for an APS sports practice make sure you have a plan to catch up. The student leaders are there to help facilitate this.
Class fees should be handed to Mr. Sayre in a sealed envelope with the student's name, amount ($60), and what the payment is for (band class fee) written on the envelope. Let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great week!
Mr. Sayre
