Weekly Newsletter - OCTOBER 22, 2023

Congratulations to our band students on a great week of performances - they represented our program well, and put together a couple of excellent performances.  This week will mark the culmination of our marching season at Zia, and I'm certain our students will once again step up and represent this program well.

Also, a HUGE thank you to all the parents that stepped up and helped run all the things this past week - from hydration, to chaperones, MPA volunteers, pit crew, food & fun - we can't do any of this without the amazing volunteers that make this program run smoothly.

Now on to the details...

Luminaria Sale

Tomorrow we will mark the beginning of our Luminaria sale fundraiser.  This is a fundraiser we do every year and does very well for us.  We will have the sale open until Thanksgiving.  Here is the link to order luminarias in our band store - share it with family and friends!
https://eldoradoband.revtrak.net/fundraising
In December, we will have a build day, where the students will get together and we will build all the luminarias - be on the lookout for the details of when that will be.
Also, if you are able to help us by folding luminaria bags, please let me know ASAP.

Yearbook Pre-order

The band yearbook is currently in the works! Thank you for continuing to email pictures.

TreeRing has our yearbook on sale for 10% off until 10/31. If you would like to take part in the savings visit TreeRing.com and enter passcode: 1016667234694117 .

Purchasers will need to create an account. If you ordered a book last year, use your same login. The 90 page, full color yearbook will be handed out at the band banquet in May.  Email yearbooks@eldorado.band with any questions or send pictures.

Volunteer Opportunities

Here is a list of all active volunteer opportunities.  These are also always available on the Volunteering page.  We have a couple more chaperone slots available for Zia.

Have a great week!

Go Eagles!

AND a word from Mr. Sayre...

Hello Eagle Band Community!

You had a fantastic performance at the Bands Across the Rio this weekend!  Thank you for your positivity and work ethic.  You have made every performance better than the one before it and that is what it is all about.  We were especially proud of how you cheered on other groups and supported our fellow bands in APS.

Some information for the upcoming week:

Halloween Game on Friday at Community Stadium - Wear your costume! Your section leaders should have communicated a plan to coordinate something for your section.  Be mindful that whatever your costume it must be school/socially appropriate. The band parents will feed you after school.  We will leave after West Mesa's performance at halftime so you can get rested for Zia the next day.

Zia Marching Band Fiesta is this Saturday - It will be the final performance of the CarnEVIL show.  Call time is 8:00am at the marching field.  Here is the itinerary for the day. You should bring a backpack to hold your personal items at our bus area because we may not be able to plan for buses to stay all day where we can store our belongings.  UNM stadium is a cashless stadium so be aware that if you need to buy tickets, concessions, or souvenirs.

Allstate Auditions RE-sign up - I had to do a redo of the sign ups for auditions.  We will be doing Jazz Auditions during class.  All concert auditions will happen after school.  Sign up sheets are on the white board in the band room.
