Weekly Newsletter - NOVEMBER 12, 2023

It was great seeing everyone yesterday, getting together to celebrate the accomplishments of these hard-working kids.  Thanks for showing up and supporting these kids and this band program.  Special thanks to the parents that helped with uniform turn-in.  Many hands always makes light work.

I want to reiterate my thanks for all the parent volunteers that helped with this marching season - hydration, pit crew, food/fun, chaperones, spiritwear, yearbook, fundraising, popsicles... I am grateful to each and everyone one of you for giving of your time to these kids to help make this season great.  And don't worry - even though marching season is over, there will still be opportunities to volunteer throughout the rest of the season, albeit a lot less frantic than marching season...

What's in this newsletter?

Here's what I have for you all this week:

This week in band...

Wednesday 11/15

Thursday 11/16

Now on to the details...

Luminaria Sale

Our annual Luminaria sale fundraiser is open.  This is a fundraiser we do every year and is a great way to connect with our community and raise some money for the band program.  We will have the sale open until Thanksgiving.  Here is the link to order luminarias in our band store - share it with family and friends!
https://eldoradoband.revtrak.net/fundraising

There is also a Facebook post you can share from our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/EldoradoEaglesBand/
In December, we will have a build day, where the students will get together and we will build all the luminarias - be on the lookout for the details of when that will be.
Also, if you are able to help us out by folding luminaria bags, please let me know ASAP.

Yearbooks

Did any groups take a picture in front of the fun CarnEvil sign in the grass? Email your Marching Awards Ceremony pictures to yearbooks@eldorado.band. Deadline to submit marching season pictures is Friday, Nov. 17th.

If you would like to order a yearbook just visit Treering.com and enter passcode: 1016667234694117

Zia Finalist Patches

Zia ran out of Finalist patches pretty quick.  These can be ordered directly from the graphics company, but they charge a ton for shipping.  Instead, we are putting together a quick sale for these patches via our band store so the boosters can do a bulk order and save everyone a TON on shipping.

Order from our band store using this link: https://eldoradoband.revtrak.net/spirit-wear/misc-swag/#/v/zia-finalist-patch-2023

Order deadline will be tomorrow, 11/13.

Volunteer Opportunities

No current volunteer opportunities available.  Take a well deserved break!

Have a great week!

Go Eagles!

AND a word from Mr. Sayre...

Hello Eagle Band Community!

Get ready for a great Concert Band Season!  We have a few weeks to get our music prepped and ready for the concert on December 5th and 7th!  In that time we always have something going on whether it is a fundraiser, audition, performance, or otherwise so make sure to stay on your toes and keep forging ahead.  I hope you were able to take the time allotted for audition prep and relax as well as put together your best work.  Mr. Snowden and I heard some pretty great auditions and work from you this last week and we are excited to see what the season will bring.  A few reminders:

Concert/Jazz Uniforms - will be distributed in the coming weeks.  Stay tuned for care and storage instructions.

Percussion Ensemble - will meet on Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm.

Instrument Maintenance - will need to be performed on any instrument that needs it.  If you are using school equipment then make sure to let the directors know if something needs fixed.

Band Fees are still due from some students - If you or someone you know would like to donate to cover some of the band class activity fees please reach out to Mr. Sayre personally and we can make it happen.  Mr. Sayre can facilitate this for the $60 per student band activity fees that are applied to the activity account. This is the account we pay for transportation to curricular events from.  We do still have some balance to make up and if you know or have a friend or business that can donate we would be more than happy to clear up the account.

Here is the plan for the week.  This will also be posted in the hallway.

GO EAGLES!
