And be sure to hit Panera bread this coming Friday evening for our next restaurant night.  See the Restaurant Nights page for flyer and code.

What's in this newsletter?

Here's what I have for you all this week:

This week in band...

Tuesday 12/5

Wednesday 12/6

Thursday 12/7

Friday 12/8

Saturday 12/9

Now on to the details...

Luminaria Build Day

Build day is this coming Saturday, December 9th, at 9 AM.  We will need most students help that morning to build luminarias - lettering points are available to those that help.

We also need everyone to start saving boxes of all sizes for us to pack luminarias in.  Boxes can be dropped off that morning as well.

Delivery of luminarias will take place starting @ 10:30 till about noon.  Emails have been sent to all those that ordered luminarias letting them know the details regarding pickup.

If anyone can help fold some bags this week, please let me know ASAP.

Spring Trip Update

An email was sent out late last week regarding some new details on the Spring Trip.  If you are a junior or senior, please respond to JP on the details in that update as soon as possible.

If you are going on the spring trip - please make sure you are making payments toward your spring trip balance.  We are in the season where we have to start paying for elements of the trip, deposits, etc., and we need those funds in place to make that happen.

Its going to be a great trip - the latest information is always available on the Spring Trip page.

Uniform Update

Concert uniforms have been distributed!  Students should have the following: tuxedo jacket and pants, tuxedo shirt, a cummerbund and a bow tie, and a garment bag. Students will need to wear their marching shoes, and as in marching season, long black socks.

If anyone is missing any part of their uniform, please email Kathleen Tighe-Smith at uniforms@eldorado.band.  Kathleen will also be at the school early for concert performances to help with any uniform issues.

Booster Holiday Party

We'll be having our annual booster holiday party on Saturday, December 9 from 6-11PM.  Our booster social chair and spring trip planner, JP Bowdoin, has graciously offered to host this event again, and we are so thankful for his hospitality.  So please, leave the kids at home, and come and enjoy some holiday cheer with your board, volunteers, and other boosters as a huge thank you for all your hard work toward this band program.

All the details, including a link to RSVP, are in this invitation.  Please RSVP soon so we can properly plan for food.

Volunteer Opportunities

No current volunteer opportunities available.

Have a great week!

Go Eagles!

AND a word from Mr. Sayre...

Hello Eagle Band!

We have a bunch of events coming up this week!  Our Jazz Concert is Tuesday and our 3 Concert Bands will perform on Thursday.  The 77th Army Band will be performing on Monday night in the PAC as well as providing a performance for the school during 5th period the same day.  Call time for the Concerts are at 6:00pm for students and the concert starts at 6:30.  Set up and equipment help will start after school.

A few items that are coming up:

Cookies after Thursday's concert: bring cookies to share for a cookie reception after the concert in the Lobby.

Concert uniforms are passed out:  Make sure you wear the appropriate uniform for the concert. You need your black marching shoes and black socks for the uniform.

Releasing students from concerts: Students must check out with the designated check out students.  This is to ensure that all the equipment is properly put away and areas are left cleaner than when we arrived.

Southwest Honor Band Auditions: NMSU faculty will be here December 12th from 7:30am to 9:30am to hear Eldorado students.  You can play your Allstate etude or other work your are preparing.

Here is the plan for the week.

GO EAGLES!
